We are sorry to announce that this year's production of Aladdin has been postponed until January 2007 due to circumstances outwith our control. If you have purchased tickets for the production, they will remain valid for use in January, just bring these along on the night with you. Please note that the panto has been re-scheduled for: Wednesday 17th until Saturday 20th January. Knightswood Congregational Church apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but hope that you will be able to join us in January for the adventures of Aladdin. If you have any questions or queries, please contact the Minister, Alan Gibbon at:
Ian White Ian White in Concert - October 2006
Knightswood Congregational Church were pleased to welcome back Ian White in Concert on Friday 27th October. This was the first night of his tour to promote his new album 'Move That Foot'. Ian has become an established part of the Contemporary Christian Music scene in Scotland, largely through the success of his 'Psalms set to Music' series of recordings. He provided us with a great night of entertainment and ministered to us through his music. The evening was enjoyed by all who attended. More info on Ian can be found at: www.littlemistymusic.com
Pyramid Rock Holiday Club - July 2006Pyramid Rock logo
This year we ran a successful event called Pyramid Rock. Over the week we had 44 children attending. Everyday we had a selection of crafts, games and songs. We also had Bible work and testimony from some of our young people in the Church. A big thanks to all who helped out over the week. Pictures from the holiday club can be found in the Gallery. A. Panto Fever - July 2006
At KCC, we're getting all excited about this year's panto; the scripts have been issued, the auditions have taken place and those who were successful now have their parts. This year, we wanted to give you a place to find out all the latest gossip and happenings 'panto style' and also a place to see pictures, cast comments and a 'diary of shows' after the panto is over. That's why we've introduced a new Panto website on 1st July. Make sure you're in the know - visit www.kcc-panto.com today!

Summer Tea Room - July 2006
The Summer Tea Room returned again this year on Tuesday evenings during the month of July. Thanks to everyone who came along over the month and supported us.
eXplorers Summer Trip - June 2006The eXplorers Crew
This year we hired a bus to take us to Craigtoun Park, just outside St. Andrews.
There were myself, Alan, Eric and 16 eXplorers. It was a lovely day, not too hot with lots of cloud.
Karen did, however, manage to look like she had been under a sun bed by the end of the day. She must have been standing under the break in the clouds!!
We arrived at the park and immediately broke into our packed lunches. After the
couple of hours travelling we were all fairly hungry.
Once fed and watered we made our way over to the boat pond. Brave move for Alan, Eric and myself but as under 16's required to be supervised by someone 18 and over we had no choice. It must have looked quite comical for people "on shore" to see the three of us trying to look very relaxed sitting back whilst teenagers rowed us around the pond. The calm look we had all adopted soon changed to panic when we realised they did not even know what way the boat should be pointing! Once we did a few 360 degree turns on the spot we finally got on the move, crashed into a few banks, ducks and other boats but hey it was fun!!!!! More...
2nd Festival Of American Gospel Music - June 2006
Last year a group of churches in Knightswood and Drumchapel brought the 1st Festival of American Gospel Music in conjunction with Global Missions Project. This year, a similar outreach event took place. The group of 50 were lead by Michael Adler who has ministered over the past twenty years in a variety of music ministries including the Billy Graham Association. Currently, Michael is the Minister of Music and Worship at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Pictures from the week of Mission can be found in the Gallery.

It's All Heating Up In Knightswood - June 2006
Recently we were in the position where we had to renew our halls heating system. After thought and prayer, we decided to go ahead and renew the system. Not only that, but extend it to the rest of the premises to cover all rooms within the church. The system also has enough capacity to heat the church itself at a later date. Pics of the work and the workers are available here. Updates will be added as the work progresses.
Summer Coffee Morning - June 2006
We had our annual Summer Coffee Morning on Saturday 17th June from 10am until 12noon. There was the usual stalls to visit including home baking, books, bric-a-brac, jewellery, tombola etc. The event was extremely successful and numerous people attended throughout the morning. Your support was very much appreciated, the amount raised was: £940.00.

Congregational Federation Assembly - May 2006
Seven of us from Knightswood attended this Assembley held in Oswaldtwistle. Alan, yet again, very kindly agreed to drive a mini bus to transport us all - Sam Gordon, Roberta Jordan, Marion Brown, Marion McGuigan, Mary Parker and myself. We picked up Margaret Stevens from Partick and we were on the motorway by 3.45 p.m. stopping at Bothwell to pick up Christian from Bellshill. We arrived at the Travel Lodge just after 7 p.m. having stopped for a coffee break at Tebay Services for a short while...

CFScotland Spring Assembly - May 2006
Seven of us from Knightswood attended this Assembly in Clydebank on Saturday, 22nd April. There were approximately 30 Churches represented at the Conference. The main points were discussion on the need to replace representatives for ACTS, CeFaS Editor, the Youth Rep and re-election of Office Bearers. A long discussion took place regarding the re-election of Office Bearers. It was asked whether anyone who was standing down from one position should be allowed to stand for a different position. For example if the person who had been Chair for four years wished to then stand to be, say, Treasurer, could they? A vote was taken and it was agreed people could stand for another position if they so wished. Churches were to be asked if they knew of anyone who would be willing and able to take over as Auditor for auditing the Accounts on behalf of the Federation as Hamish Armour is standing down this year. The Autumn Assembly will be held in Musselburgh - date still to be announced.

Tearoom in aid of Christian Aid - May 2006Christian Aid logo
We had our Christian Aid Coffee Morning on Saturday 6th May from 10am til 12noon. The church decided a few years ago to no longer door-to-door collect for Christian Aid and so this is an alternative way to support the charity's work. There was a selection of home-baking, books, tombola and a raffle. Thanks to everyone who came along to support the event. The amount raised was £257.00
A 'Reely' Good Night - April 2006
We had our annual ceilidh and concert on Saturday 22nd April. This year the Bearsden Fiddlers came and provided the suberb music for us which was enjoyed by all who attended. At many points during the night, the dancefloor was full which can only be a good thing. We had refreshments and home-baking half way through the night in an attempt to revive us a little. Pictures of the ceilidh are available here. M. Chatham, Webmaster

Youth Concert - March 2006
Our fourth annual Youth Concert was on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March. The Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, Pilots and GUGG/eXplorers were all involved in the show and entertained the audience on both nights. The show was very successful and generated some good feedback. A big thanks to all groups involved, and of course everyone who came along to see the show. You helped raise over £400.00 which will be split between Christian Aid and CHAS.

Snow Joke! - March 2006
Glasgow awoke to a fair share of snow on Sunday morning, but there was a real sense of 'the show (well, service) must go on'. We arrived at the Church to find a winter wonderland with a good 6/7 inches of snow blanketing the place. We soon managed to clear the path. All those who braved the snow were given a cup of coffee when they arrived to help thaw the bones. It was a different but good service. 'See Amid The Winter Snow' Anyone? Check out the gallery...

GUGG 24:7 - February 2006
Last weekend saw the 4th GUGG sleepover in the church. There were 22 youngsters who came and stayed for the night. They enjoyed a time of fellowship, games and supper (GUGG never marches on an empty stomach). To round the evening off we had campfire songs at 1.30am. In the morning we woke to a hearty breakfast and then off home at 11.00 am. Good time all round. These are some of the pictures worth looking out for. Joe and Chris certainly had enough crisps, they turned into a packet. Kimberly can be seen praying over the toaster (is that a burnt offering?) When's the next one then????? Pics... A.
