Youth Concert Success - May 2007
On 9th and 10th of May we had our 5th Youth Concert at Knightswood. The youth provided a varied programme of songs and dance. Youngsters took part from our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, ReFre5h and Fusion. Both nights were well attended and we want to thank all those who came along. Also big thanks are due to all the leaders who helped make this happen, Social Committee for the teas and to Lorraine Magee and Fiona Proctor for organising the event. Obviously a MASSIVE thanks to the youth involved for providing the entertainment and raising the cash for charity. Close on £400 was raised and will be split between Cancer Research and Christian Aid .

Two Guitars and a Tale to Tell - March 2007
Alan Gibbon and Eddie Thomlinson took to the stage along with the KCC Praise Band and other friends to bring you 'Two Guitars and a Tale to Tell' in March. The evening consisted of songs which were real foot-tappers, songs which brung on those nostalgic moments and songs which had the audience singing in sweet harmony! The Praise Band also sang some modern worship songs. The amount raised was £229.50, a big thanks to everyone who came and supported us, we hope you enjoyed the show.

Make Fair Trade Your Habit - March 2007
Amy Souter, a member of KCC, reports on the annual 'Fair Trade Experience' Fair, held on 3rd and 4th March in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall: "To mark Fair Trade fortnight this year, Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall was the venue for a two-day Fair, with wads of brilliant stalls, children's crafty stuff and speakers who had come from as far away as Malawi to share their experiences of Fair Trade."

G.U.G.G. is Refreshed! - January 2007
Unfortunately, due to being generally outdated, the Get Up and Go Group (GUGG) has been disbanded. However, it has left a legacy, and has been, literally, refreshed. KCC can now lay claim to the newest Youth organisation: reFre5h. Check out the website here . The launch event was a great success, with nearly everyone finding their way to the 70s for a thoroughly refreshing night. The night kicked off with the arrival of a time machine from 1972 - taking some there to their days of youth. Craig came clomping in, on his 4 inch platforms, followed by "Margaret", who looked like Joni Mitchell. The party grew as punks, disco ladies and other weirdly dressed individuals showed up to have the funniest game of Musical statues anyone had played since John Travolta's hair went out of fashion. Pictures in the site gallery, so get clicking!
