When ideas were being thought of for the 75th Anniversary, the idea of giving time to the community was discussed. Over the years that I have been at Bankhead we have formed a very good relationship, and I knew that they had plans to make over an old changing room area to turn it into a space to be used by small groups and a resource library. So, I suggested this idea to the youngsters of re:Fre5h and they were keen to take it on. So in early May work began in the room. It was probably more work than initially expected. The room had to be cleaned, and then the tiles primed and painted. The roof had to be painted, and the floor sorted and finally a carpet laid. Pictures of the work can be seen in the Gallery. They worked over seven days and gave 100 hours of their time to make it happen. The youngsters involved were Craig Coia, Lewis Faryma, Mark Chatham, Sarah Grant, Rhona Proctor, Tina Pullan, Vanessa Pullan and Caitlin O'Hara. It was a good experience and was a fine example of how to be a good neighbour in the community. The pictures:                                          |
