This is our fifth consecutive year of taking part in the initiative and we’re hoping this year will be the best year yet! Blythswood Care say: “Some people have so little that things we take for granted can mean so much as they are luxuries that they can’t afford to buy. To give someone a new hat or scarf when they have never had new clothes brings great joy and laughter. Please fill a shoebox and help bring this joy this Christmas. "Shoe boxes will be sent to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, India, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine." "Hannah's star continues to climb, while Miley is in danger of being lost in the shuffle. The film opens with Hannah's hectic lifestyle wrecking the important relationships in her life; she gets into a catfight over shoes with Tyra Banks, she forgets to say goodbye when her brother leaves for college, and she's late for her best friend's sweet sixteen. To help bring her back to Earth, Miley's dad (Billy Ray Cyrus) takes her to Crowley Corners, Tennessee, where there's plenty of love and laughter in the air. At first Miley hates being stuck in the backwoods town, but can a cute young ranch hand - and her grandmother's love - eventually melt her heart?" Find out on Friday 2nd October from 7pm, all are welcome and admission is FREE. Please note that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. | | | | | KCC Expands Online Ministry

Holiday Club Monsters Stink!, this year’s Summer Holiday Club at Knightswood ended slightly differently this year – by inviting the parents along to get in on the action too! Some 30 parents responded to the invite and came along to the church on the Friday night to see what their children had been doing throughout the week. It was a great opportunity to showcase the work of the children, which included monster clay hands, cool sock puppets, CD Coasters, badges and biscuits! The kids ended the week on a high in the main hall – on the bouncy castle, whilst the parents had tea, coffee and snacks in the Church and small hall. Videos and slideshows of the week were shown to the parents to give them a flavour of what we do at the Holiday Clubs. For many of the parents, it was their first time within the Church Sanctuary and many were genuinely impressed with our newly refurbished worship area. Many of the Church young people were on hand to talk to parents and to answer any questions they had. The parents then joined the children in singing praise songs and the Monsters Stink! theme tune, before seeing their children presented with certificates from the Church for attending Monsters Stink! for the whole week. Parents completed evaluation forms, indicating what their children enjoyed best about the week, whether the time of the club suited them, and what they thought we could improve upon next time. The responses were extremely positive and we were pleased that most parents provided us with contact details and e-mail addresses to keep them informed of future news and events. We are thankful to God for giving us this opportunity to reach out to the Children and adults within our community and we look forward to what the future may bring when working with these families. See our pictures and video of the week...
