Monsters Stink!, this year’s Summer Holiday Club at Knightswood ended slightly differently this year – by inviting the parents along to get in on the action too! Some 30 parents responded to the invite and came along to the church on the Friday night to see what their children had been doing throughout the week. It was a great opportunity to showcase the work of the children, which included monster clay hands, cool sock puppets, CD Coasters, badges and biscuits! The kids ended the week on a high in the main hall – on the bouncy castle, whilst the parents had tea, coffee and snacks in the Church and small hall. Videos and slideshows of the week were shown to the parents to give them a flavour of what we do at the Holiday Clubs. For many of the parents, it was their first time within the Church Sanctuary and many were genuinely impressed with our newly refurbished worship area. Many of the Church young people were on hand to talk to parents and to answer any questions they had. The parents then joined the children in singing praise songs and the Monsters Stink! theme tune, before seeing their children presented with certificates from the Church for attending Monsters Stink! for the whole week. |
