A DAY IN LONDON

We left on the sleeper on Friday night. It's come a long way from the British rail days. Very comfortable trip. Would recomend it to you all.

Saturday, we went on the London Eye. Fantastic views over London. I will see if I can post a couple of pics! Then to Pettycoat Lane, only to find it wa shut...so a trip to Covant Garden, then to our hotel in Harrow, a meal with Pam's sister a very good day.

Oh, forgot to mention we went to see Bruce. Lets just say still amazing after all these years. And 15,000? Singing This Little Light Of Mine!!!!! Quite a sight, and a world premier to boot! (Long Walk Home) being the song. http://www.backstreets.com/setlists.html check out the review for the 11th Nov.

But, there was a couple of things that bothered me. Tubes! The most crowded way to travel. Imagine that every day of your life!! Way too much bother! Then the 2 minute silence.

With so much being made of the Poppy thing (see previous post) I thought London would have ground to a halt at 11 am. The thing is, I was not aware of anyone stopping at all! Are we begining to forget to remember? Is it something only done in churches and high profile public places? What new ways can we let people have the chance to remember?

PANTO

Panto has been postponed. Due to illness of one of the cast members, but we are all set to go on 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th of January 2007. Keep your tickets, they are still valid.

POPPYS!!!!!

I sometime bang my head on the desk and wonder whats going on.

This time its poppies. Whats all the noise about this time? Well, some Christian Lobby Group is claiming that the white poppy is more Christian than the white poppy. Should we really have a debate about this? With all the war, young people being killed day by day?

In our Church we lay two wreaths a white one to signify thanks for peace and the red one to remember the sacrifice. Why can't the two go hand in hand? Will we remember them?

I get so fed up of the term 'politically correct'!!!!!!!! IS there not more important things to lobby about? And I do wonder if there is sometimes an agenda of getting noticed!

BRUUCCEEEEEEEE

Off to London for a day....Springsteen is here and Wembley plays host tomorrow night. Looking forward to singing things like When The Saints Go Marching In, This Little Light of Mine, Jacobs Ladder among others, of last nights show it was said "Dave Jones adds: "The only word to describe the event is joyous. I haven’t sung that many gospel songs since I went to church school, and the sight of 13,000 plus people singing and dancing!"

We will of course bring a blow by blow account, assuming it is politically correct to do so!!

Been prompted to write as I have met two, yes two people recently who actually said they read this thing. THE PRESSURE!!!!!!!!

Anyways, since August it has been kinda all go.
