THE LONGEST DAY

We are fast approaching the longest day. What will you be doing? Staying up to meet the sun? Does it not make you think that you should make the most of every day? The most of every hour? What happens when we waste hours....we never get them back you know!

Pam, has just shown me her passport photo......it gives me an idea, we should start a display on the website for these..........see how many we could get!!!!will see if I can get a copy. I, of course, am safe because I don't have one!!!!!!!!

This weekend sees our eXplorers outing to Craigtoun Park...really looking forward to it. It is the kind of day I really enjoy, it brings people together in fellowship...lets all pray for good weather!!!

SAYINGS

Tonight at dinner another cracker was added to the book. I was told that I would be made to eat with my mouth closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now there is a thing worth seeing! Hee Hee

IT TAKES A WORRIED MAN TO SING A WORRIED SONG

World events often worry me and I can get a bit down hearted when there is no end in sight. A low point for me this last week was when an american offical said that the death of 3 inmates from suicide at Guantanamo Bay was a good 'PR exercise' for the terrorists.

We must not lose track of the fact that thousands of innocent people are being killed in Iraq. There are rumours of inmates being held all over the world in secret jails, then there is Guantanamo Bay itself. And to top it all we have two innocent men arrested in the most horrible way in London.

We need a perspective on all this before the world goes mad.

I know I go on about Bruce Springsteen, but his new recording 'Bring Em Home' is worth a listen. Listen to the words you can find it on www.brucespringsteen.net

THE AMERICANS HAVE GONE.....................................

We had the last concert on Friday night at Knightswood Secondary School. A great night with the band and choir on top form. It was a busy week for them with many school performances (over 2000 kids), plus the night concerts at a variety of places. The next question is, was it a sucess? Thats harder to measure. It builds up the ministers and pastors involved, it encourages the churches, it raises the profile of the churches, and it presents the gospel in a different way. Sucess, God will decide! Hopefully we will keep in touch with some of them, and hey.....who knows. Thanks ya'all.

Weather

Its way too hot the last few days............. Nothing more to say!!!

M and D's

On Saturday I accompanied Pam and her swimming club (50 adults and kids) to their annual outing to Strathclyde Country Park (and M and D's). It amazes me to see all these kids up and down all the rides turned upside down, dropped great distances....for fun!!!! Does anyone remember the rib tickler at the carnival? If you do. I had to ask for that to be stopped to get off......very low pain threshold...just ask Pam about the splinter!!!!!!!!!

Football

As per my previous post....I did not mean to start a row about spiritual people who play football.......but, Marvin Andrews did prove a point over his proposed operation. Rangers said he needed one, He said that the power of prayer would heal him........He didn't need an operation! By the way has it started yet? Is it nearly over????

Panto

We have had the auditions. A few surprises, but all looking forward to it. Big thanks to all who came along, especially those who were unlucky not to get a part.......

A strange thing said

Over the last year, people had said some funny things....so, I think its time to keep a note. For example someone once said "It would be a nice day if it wasn't for the clouds and the rain" and while speaking about how much time we spent in the house someone said "I spend most of the time either in or out" How strange does it get!!!!! More shortly................................

AMERICAN CONCERTS

This years concerts have been going well. Attendances have not been as high as we have hoped, but the quality of music has been great, the fellowship wonderful and there have been lives that have been touched by the experiance. St Davids tomorrow and Knightswood Secondary School on Friday, if you have the time....drop on by, your life may just be changed!

James and Jimmy

Knightswood's answer to the Chuckle Brothers are back. James and Jimmy are the heating engineers that are installing the new heating system. After a couple of weeks break they are back in the fold....so its all systems go again.

Football

Is there some sort of football tournament on? In Eurpoe someplace? You may have heard it on the news.

Seriously, I am fed up of it already. No harm to the England team, I hope they do well....But the coverage is so OTT it is unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to support Scotland, Jason that is who is playing for Trinidad and Tobago....might even go and buy the CD that they are promoting through a well known newspaper. Roll on July when its all done!

Catch up

1) The PRAt mobile made a double journey with the 9 Americans
2) There is still no advance on the offer.....................

Being Cool

Comment was passed tonight while chatting about this blog. Someone pointed out that blogs are not really cool. Probably true, but hey, I stopped being cool a long long time ago....its only a bit of fun. Mind you if you know who you are you could always answer this. But would that make you uncool for reading it!!!!!!

The PRAt mobile

It has been behaving itsself and sucessfully transported 9 American friends without getting lost, or beaking down....now through 100,000 miles.......it just keeps on a going!!!!!!!!!! Any advance on the offer of two hubcaps and a bonnet catch?
